Landing at LGA Late and Still Going Out
You come off the jet bridge at 11:40 with two ways to read the time. One says the day is over and the hotel is the only thing left. The other checks what is actually open, and near LaGuardia the answer is that Starlets in Woodside runs daily 11 PM to 4 AM.
By that clock you did not arrive late. The room opened forty minutes ago.
"Late" depends on when things close
A flight that lands near midnight feels late because it is late by the clock you keep at home. That clock travelled with you and it does not apply here. So the number on the departures board reads like a verdict when it is only a time.
Woodside keeps a different schedule. Open daily, 11 PM to 4 AM, which means the room your flight supposedly ruined has barely opened its doors.
The real question is your morning
Skip the clock and ask about tomorrow instead. Do you have an eight o'clock, a client, a return flight before noon? That is the only thing that decides this, and it decides it cleanly.
If tomorrow is soft, a late landing is one of the better times to be in Queens. If tomorrow is hard, say so now while you still get to choose it, rather than at three in the morning when the choice is being made for you.
What a late-arrival night looks like
Shorter than a local's, and better for it. You get in, you eat something, you sit down somewhere with a view of the room and let the travel come off you.
There is a full kitchen, which matters at that hour more than at any other. A person who has been in a middle seat since the afternoon and has eaten nothing gets tired fast and blames the wrong thing for it.
Two hours in a good room beats six hours of intending to go somewhere. Nobody is grading the length of your night.
Set the end before the start. Say out loud what time you are leaving, and let the night be as good as it likes inside that.
If everyone else is already out
Somebody in your group landed at six and has been going since eight. You are joining a night already in progress, and that is its own problem. They have momentum. You have a suitcase and a headache.
Do not chase them across four places. Pick the last stop and make it the only one you go to. A room that runs to 4 AM can absorb somebody arriving at one in the morning without the whole group having to start over for you.
Decide it before you reach the hotel
The dangerous stretch is between the terminal and the room key. That is where a plan quietly turns into tomorrow, usually with nobody saying a word about it.

If you landed on a weeknight
Woodside does not save itself for Friday. There is a named night most of the week, all of them starting at 11 PM, and an ordinary week versus a big weekend is the place that sorts out which is which.
The hours do not thin out midweek either. Seven nights, same window. A Tuesday arrival gets exactly the same stretch of clock as a Saturday one, so the day your flight happened to land on is not part of this decision.
