Halloween Bachelorette Party in NYC: Themes, Timing and a Table That's Ready
A Halloween bachelorette party in NYC is the one time a bride squad gets to go all in on matching costumes without anyone thinking it's too much. Pick one theme the whole group can commit to, pick the night early, and book a table so the bride isn't standing in a corner holding her own drink. At Starlets in Woodside, Queens, the Bachelorette Night is a VIP table with a dedicated host, and this year's Halloween night party is literally called Brides of Chucky. You couldn't plan a better fit.

Why a Halloween bachelorette party is a good idea
Most bachelorettes spend weeks arguing about matching outfits. On Halloween weekend, the argument is already settled. Everybody's dressing up. The only question is what.
It's also a forgiving weekend for the maid of honor. Costumes hide a lot of last-minute planning, the city is in a party mood anyway, and the photos come out better than another round of pink sashes. And this year Halloween is on a Saturday, October 31, so the bride doesn't have to pick between "the actual night" and "the weekend."
Halloween bachelorette themes that actually work
One rule before the ideas: the bride has to stand out in every photo. If eight people are in costume, the bride needs to be the one you'd spot from across the room.
The bride in white, everyone else in black. The classic, for a reason. Ghost bride, angel, dead-of-night glam, whatever. Black for the squad, white for her.
Brides of Chucky. That's the name of Starlets' Halloween night party, so the theme picks itself. Bride in a torn, blood-spattered wedding dress, the squad as Tiffany or as Chucky in overalls and striped shirts. Nothing about it needs to be expensive.
"Till death do us part." Corpse brides and zombie bridesmaids. It's funny, it's on theme, and it works on any night of Halloween Week.
Angels and devils. The bride picks a side, the group splits. Takes about four minutes to plan.
Masquerade. If your group would rather be elegant than spooky, go with masks and formal black. Half-masks only, though. More on that in a second.
"Body & Soul." That's the official theme of this year's Village Halloween Parade. Steal it. Bride as "soul" in white, everyone else as "body" in something sharper.
Her favorite movie couple, with the squad as the cast. Personal beats trendy every time.
Whatever you choose, tell the group this week, and send one photo of the look you mean. "Dress spooky" gets you nine completely different interpretations.
The ID rule matters more on Halloween
Starlets is 21+, and every person shows a valid government-issued photo ID at the door. The person checking it needs to see the face that matches the photo. So skip the full-face masks, or plan on taking them off for a second.
Starlets hasn't published a costume policy. If anybody's costume includes a prop, heavy face paint, or something you're not sure about, email management@starletsnyc.com before the night and ask. It's a two-minute email that saves an awkward moment at the door.
Which night of Halloween Week?
Starlets is running four themed parties for Halloween Week this year, all 11 PM to 4 AM:
- Wednesday, October 28: Sinners
- Thursday, October 29: The Starlets CarnEVIL
- Friday, October 30: The Gothic Purge
- Saturday, October 31: Brides of Chucky
For a bachelorette, it really comes down to Friday or Saturday.
Friday is The Gothic Purge. Think black lace, dark makeup and a glowing mask you can lift at the door. The club's events listing for October 30 currently shows free entry until 12 AM. Friday is a strong choice if your squad cares more about dancing than costumes, and you get Saturday to recover, or to do Halloween all over again.
Saturday is Halloween itself, and it's Brides of Chucky. A bride-themed party on Halloween night is about as close to made-for-a-bachelorette as it gets. The listing for October 31 currently shows one free drink and free entry until 12 AM, plus buy one bottle, get the second 50% off. Do the parade earlier in the evening and the bride gets the whole New York Halloween in one night.
The Halloween Week flyer doesn't mention offers, and offers change week to week, so check the listing again the week of.
How the Bachelorette Night table works
The Bachelor / Bachelorette Night at Starlets is a VIP table with a dedicated host and reserved seating for the guest of honor and the crew. It's booked by request and quoted for your group, so nobody has to guess.
What that means in practice: the group has one home base, the host knows it's a bachelorette, and the bride isn't stuck waving down a server while the squad scatters. On a Halloween weekend, when everybody in the city is out, that matters a lot.
How to book it:
1. Pick your night: The Gothic Purge on Friday or Brides of Chucky on Saturday. 2. Get a rough headcount. It doesn't have to be final. 3. Send a request through the services page or email management@starletsnyc.com. 4. Tell them it's a Halloween bachelorette, and mention the theme. It's more fun for everyone when the host knows.
Planning the rest of the night
The table is one piece. The rest of the night is timing, and we've written about that before. The bachelorette itinerary arc walks through dinner-to-last-hour planning, and if your bride is flying in, building the weekend around her landing time covers that. If the guest list itself is the hard part, there's a whole post on bachelorette guest list drama.
One more Halloween-specific tip: book the ride home before you go out. Starlets is at 49-09 25th Ave, Woodside, NY 11377, the buses near the club finish by about 1:40 AM, and Halloween night is not the night to be refreshing a ride app in heels.
